Debbie Kane is Director of Web and Partnership Marketing at Active Interest Media, publisher of Yoga Journal, Backpacker, Vegetarian Times and several other special interest magazines. She is responsible for all web circulation promotions, digital subscription promotions, email marketing, audience development, and large partnerships for all AIM titles. In addition, Debbie oversees Yoga Journal's Teacher Liability Insurance program and video production department. Debbie began working at Yoga Journal in 2004, before it was acquired by Active Interest Media in 2006. Debbie has been in circulation and direct marketing for over 13 years, working for publications such as Upside Magazine, Smart Meetings, and as a consultant.
Hallmark Data Systems provides subscription fulfillment, e-mail, web and database services for 70 media clients representing over 500 publications. Steve has been in his role since January and is responsible for Hallmark Data Systems' product and services offerings. Steve spent 15 years at Time Inc. in the Consumer Marketing division where he led all Consumer Marketing activities for Time Inc.’s Southern Progress division in Birmingham, AL and later was responsible for New Business Acquisition across print, web and email for all 20 Time Inc. brands at the corporate offices in New York.
Steve earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Business from the University of Alabama. He currently lives in Chicago, IL with his wife, Gisele, and three daughters, Darcy, Allie and Lauren.
Tony Napoleone is the Director of Audience Development at Bobit Business Media in Southern California. In addition to traditional paid and non-paid audience development responsibilities, Tony's areas of expertise include email marketing, search engine optimization, web analytics and social media marketing. Tony has a proven track record of increasing traffic, readership and online engagement and is well versed in utilizing digital media and online marketing as a revenue and audience driver. Last year, Tony was named to Folio Magazine’s “13 Under 30” annual feature which identifies emerging leaders in the media industry.
John Brooks is the Director of Marketing Services with BPA Worldwide and is responsible for managing the daily activities of the US Marketing Staff. John joined BPA Worldwide in October 1991 as a field auditor and has held management positions in Internal Auditing and while directing the regional audit operations in the West, Midwest and Southern Regional Offices. In January 2001, John was promoted to Vice President, Member Relations. John left BPA in November 2001 and held management positions at Stark Services and PRIMEDIA's Enthusiast Media before returning to BPA Worldwide in July 2007. John is the current President of the Western Fulfillment Management Association and Treasurer of the Western Publishing Association. John is a graduate of UCLA and currently resides in Santa Clarita, CA with his twin sons.
Teresa Perry, Senior Vice President, Publisher Member Audit & Report Processing Services
Teresa Perry joined the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) in 1985 as a full time field auditor. After being promoted in 1993 to Senior Field Auditor, and in 1994 to Regional Manager of Business Publications, she accepted a promotion to Manager, Field Auditing – Periodicals in 1997. In this position, she was responsible for a staff of three regional managers and supervised the audits of more than 1,100 United States and Canadian business publications, consumer magazines and farm publications. Teresa was promoted to Director, Field Auditing - Periodicals in 1998 and to Vice President, Field Auditing - Periodicals in July 2000. As a result of ABC’s reorganization of our Field Auditing Department, Teresa’s title has been changed to Senior Vice President, Publisher Member Audit & Report Processing Services.
Jan Edwards-Pullin began her career at Knapp Communications where she served as VP of Circulation for Architectural Digest, Bon Appétit and Home magazines. Soon after she started her own publishing consulting and fulfillment service business 25 years ago and has worked on 300+ titles during that period. She is the past President of the WFMA and has held other Board of Director positions almost from the beginning.
Brad Stauffer has been a passionate publishing executive for over 25 years. His company, Stauffer Media, provides publishing consulting and business coaching for corporations, small businesses and authors. He is also Creative Director at BrownTrout Publishers, Inc., the largest calendar publisher in the world.
Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Operations at 101communications (now 1105 Media; General Manager and Director of Operations at Bobit Publishing (now Bobit Business Media); Associate Publisher/Director of Operations for San Francisco Focus Magazine (now Modern Luxury’s San Francisco), where he was responsible for launching new products and brand extensions, as well as KQED Books & Video. Brad was also Assistant Publisher & Director of Operations at Creative Age Publications. In addition, he was co-owner and Publisher of choice Magazine, the magazine of professional coaching and is now their business coach and consultant, as well as Associate Publisher at Singular Magazine and SingularCity.com
Brad was named "Who's Who in Business Publishing" by Media Business Magazine in 2006, 2007 & 2008. As a graduate of the Coaches Training Institute, he is a certified coach, working mostly with small businesses and solo-entrepreneurs. He is immediate Past President of the Western Publishing Association and has served on the Board of Directors of WFMA. Brad is a frequent speaker at publishing conferences presenting on digital media, audience development and career strategies. He is a graduate of the Stanford Professional Publishing Course and earned a Bachelors Degree in Communications. Brad is a member of the International Coach Federation and serves on the board of ICF-Los Angeles. He is an inspirational speaker, has been a member of Toastmasters International for seven years and the District One Speakers Bureau for two years.
Desiree Bennett Forsyth, Director of Marketing Services
Desiree Bennett Forsyth is the Director of Marketing Services at String Letter Publishing in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her ten years of publishing experience spans the areas of Marketing, Operations, Analysis, Bills and Renewals, Marketing Services and Sales. She is a former department manager at Bobit Business Media and Primedia, as well as a consultant specializing in online audience development. She is active in industry organizations and is a frequent speaker at industry events.
Barbara Shepherd is Circulation Director of Creative Age Publications, Inc., a B2B publishing company in the San Fernando Valley, where she is currently responsible for six publications in the professional beauty industry. Her career also includes tours of duty at Movieline magazine and Designers West magazine in Los Angeles. She has been actively involved with the WFMA since 1985 and has held numerous Board of Director positions. When it comes to databases, USPS and audits, she knows her stuff!
Margaret Hernandez exposes the power of Social Media for businesses. She's an entrepreneur, business owner, and social resource to many. Her professional career spans from sea to shining sea, which started with Disney in Anaheim and bloomed to New York City. Today Margaret owns The ANROMA Group based in Pasadena, CA where she guides organizations to build their Social Business. Mike has been developing audiences since 1985. In 2002, he co-founded Next Steps Marketing, a San Francisco based company whose mission is to help people, companies, and organizations succeed by building engaged and profitable ongoing customer relationships.
Ben is currently the National Director, Mailing Sales and USPS Liaison. He is responsible for improving mail operations and increasing and expanding distribution services for all of Trend’s customers.
Ben started his mailing career in 1982 and has worked in key management positions for industry-leading companies such as LA Times, and World Marketing LA.
Ben is a member of the Postal Customer Council and Co-Chair of the Pacific Area USPS & Industry Focus Group.
As VP of New Business Development, Deborah brings more than 5 years of experience in public relations and marketing to Subco. Deborah’s interest in media began while earning her degree in Mass Communications and Journalism from California State University, Fresno.
Deborah brought her expertise in networking, media relations and relationship building to help grow our partner network with creative and high-performance campaigns.
Prior to joining Subco, Deborah worked as Public Information Officer in the city and local school district sector, launching several specialized marketing programs. Deborah approaches every project with a passion for quality and high expectations, and she has been a key player in promoting the Subco brand.
Julie Campistron is the SVP of Business Operations for Demand Media Studios. For the past year, she has managed the business and product aspects of Demand Media’s content creation studio, and has partnered with the editorial group to produce profitable, quality content, at scale, in an expanding variety of formats and categories and for a growing audience of over 100 million monthly unique visitors.
Julie started at Demand Media in 2007 and built the marketing and community team that still supports the company’s large network of owned and operated websites. She then became the General Manager for a portfolio of those websites. Since taking the helm of Demand Media’s studio operations, she has led both the continued growth of the existing content business and the expansion into new content ventures.
Prior to joining Demand Media, Julie led marketing for Yahoo! Music and held various brand marketing positions at L’Oreal. Julie is a French native and holds a master’s degree from the Toulouse Business School with a major in Marketing.

Greg Wolfe, President
Greg joined Circulation Specialists in 1988 as its third employee, and has participated in the growth of the business over the last 23 years. Greg has experience managing a wide variety of titles including newsletters, and paid and controlled consumer magazines, ranging in circulation from very small specialty titles, to large ABC and BPA audited titles. He held the position of Vice President since 1994, and was appointed President in January 2000. Greg has spoken about circulation marketing at many industry events including the DMA, FMA, CircDay LA, Circulation Management Conference, the Folio Conference, the Niche Magazine Conference and the Kable client conference. Greg has also written extensively for DM News and other magazine trade publications. Greg was named "Fulfillment Manager of the Year" by the FMA for 2010.
Greg graduated from Wesleyan University in 1988 where he majored in physics.
Thomas Chaffee is CEO of ePublishing, a cloud-based Enterprise Publishing System that unifies Content Management (CMS), CRM, Community/Social & eCommerce for Publishers & Media Companies. He is former Chairman & CEO of Homeseekers.com (NASDAQ: HMSK) a major real estate information and consumer publisher. While there he migrated all marketing, delivery and information to the internet, quadrupling shareholder value and selling to two Fortune 500 acquirers. Tom regularly speaks in meetings and boardrooms to craft corporate strategy, reduce costs and generate revenue. He sits on the board of Enterprise Informatics (NASDAQ: EPRS).
Michael Zoebelein of Grand View Media Group is responsible for internet initiatives, and implementing new content management and publishing systems. He also advises each of the magazine properties on internet strategies and systems training. Zoebelein has worked in the publishing industry for more than a decade, specializing in automation and workflow improvement. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama, and in the past has worked for Time Inc. and the American City Business Journals.
